Every Unique Spawn/Speciality Army must be defeated and the following four minor factions crushed in order to win the game: Jatu, Heretics, Snake Cult, Mystmountain Raiders, Vanskerry Raiders (?).
You can eliminate the Unique Spawns led by Hero Characters by either defeating and capturing them making them swear to retire in return for their freedom or to go the easy way and chop their heads off. Both is available via dialogue once you captured the Heroic Character. Unique Speciality Armies just need to be defeated.
Categories of Heroic Characters/Specialty Spawns:
The Snake Cult
Troops: Cobra Warriors, Anaconda Knights, Serpent Priestesses, all cavalry. Infantry mostly rabble though the Snake Cult Armsmen aren´t too bad. They specialize in melee combat and two hand weapons. Knights/Warriors ride heavy horses and use lances/shortened military scythes/great bardiches and javelins. The priestesses use javelins and lances.
Their Unique Spawn is the DREAD LEGION, led by Maltise, but they can spawn regular Cultist armies without a true unique leader as well. They spawn in Empire territory and hate the player and major factions. The Dread Legion Spawn is one of the most difficult ones to encounter, be careful engaging them. Their heavy cavalry is deadly as most of their units ride the nefarious Netherworld Charger, a horse with 500 hitpoints.
The D’Shar Outlaw Raiders
They are simply D’Shar outlaws. Prepare for Lancers and Horse Archers. They hate Kadan Bahadur Khan and keep having blood feuds with one another. We can distinguish two heroes in this faction:
Sheik Shalavan is simply a self-christened Sheik who is actually just a jumped-up bandit. He unites all the outlaw gangs and he does a lot of raiding. It is said he wants to revert to the traditional D’Shar tribal ways of living and is gaining more and more reputation amongst the D’Shar. He leads basic D’Shar troops.
Buriligi the Destroyer is a Prophet of the Desert obsessed by holy madness who wants to “cleanse” the D’Shar Territories of everything unclean. What he considers unclean hasn´t been found out yet as those who know for sure ceased to exist. He has mostly cavalry troops consisting of both Singalian Horsemen and Singalian Temptresses. Whole tribes are said to abandon their settlements in order to join him. He puts up a tough fight and especially the Temptresses are worth a look or two!
Vanskerry Raiders (Vikings by heart, Epic Failure at tactics)
These drunken raider-men are pretty much vikings and care only about loot and wine. They travel in packs of 30-40 men, sometimes fewer sometimes more, in the Fierdsvain. They are pretty much all medium armored infantry and they sometimes travel with a “Jarl”. Jarls have the chance to drop the rare weapon called Dragonspine Axe. Ocasionally a Jarl fields a large invading Vanskerry Army, which puts up a very tough fight. These invaders are useful because they keep the Fierdsvain lords preoccupied. Their parties consist mainly of Warriors and Raiders and as dangerous the Warriors are, as vulnerable to arrows they be. Heavy cavalry or a mixed infantry archer line will do the trick against them. Good for early loot. Bascially, Native´s Sea Raiders.
Mystmountain Raiders
The vast majority of the is poorly armed and mounted (sumpter horses/warhammers/bows/only light armor) and stir up trouble by raiding Ravenstern. They recruit bandits and outlaws too. Their huge blunt hammers can sometime become quite an annoyance but they are mainly a miserable lot. Beware of their upper tier units - Mystmountain Warriors and Shamans, they can deal quite a punch. Still their weak spot are their slow horses.
Wolfbode the Slayer unites all the Mystmountain Clans with numerous shamans amongst his troops. Wulfbode’s Honor Guard is very formidable, as is Wulfbode himself. Wulfbode uses a Runed Axe, an Al Aziz weapon. If you´re lucky you may loot both the weapon and capture the hero...
The Heretics
This foul sect originated in Barclay and migrated to Pendor.
They are extremely nasty. They carry portable altars and practice human sacrifice so beware of getting captured. The Heretic Priests and Confessors are good cavalry fighters, riding on Hunters, having middle armor and using blunt and piercing weapons makaing them very dangerous. One of the best armors of the games in terms of AC/weight ratio can be looted off them - Demonskin Armor.
Eyegrim the Devourer leads the Heretic Army, but isn´t a must. The Heretic goddess gives the Heretic army Demon Warriors who are true carrion eaters – Eyegrim prefers to rip of arms and legs and eat them fresh. He fields large numbers of “Revenants” with hideous faces and amazing combat skills mounted on Netherworld Chargers (500 hp, 70 AC) and equipped with Demonplate Armor and an assortment of throwing and one hand/two handed weapons as well as lances. The players best bet is to have the various Lords parties wear this spawn down.
- May become easier in the upcoming patches following 2.03 - looks like the party templates and the actual numbers are wrong. Since the cheapest units are fielded with little numbers and the top ones with most
The Three Seers spawn and live near Mistmire Castle close Avendor, Sarleon. They are three Sorceresses with lots of female horse archers all heavily armored and well equipped. They try to seduce you into sitting down and chatting with them resulting in your capture. Don’t succumb to their wiles or you will get what you deserve, naughty old letch.
The Jatu (The old D’shar trouble all over again!)
Even though they resemble D’Shar offshoots, the Jatu´s combat skills are worth beeing mentioned. Horse Archers = PAIN. They live in the steppes near Laria, next to the Noldor inhabitating the Woods of Laria and detest them greatly. That hate is shared by the Noldor and it´s common knowledge they fight each other whenever possibly.
They are wild tribals who loot, raid and steal women to breed. They are known for their cruelty towards anyone and kill their own children if they think they are weak.
They have two warlords.
Kjuda the Ravager who is God’s own sociopath. He has a terrible temper andiper and is known to kill his own men when he has a tantrum. He usually mounts Noldor heads on poles outside his tent as decorations. His Honor Guard, the “Kajahars” are very fine fighters, as is K’Juda.
Warlord Zulkar is the honorable and respected Jatu Warlord. He has great equipment and combat skills, and his “Grim Rider” troops can be quite tough.
Both Warlords’ troops fight like Jatu so prepare for a Horde of Lancers raking in kill after kill backupped by a hellish lot of Battle Riders and Elite Horse Archers felling your troops like wheat cut down in harvest time...
The Red Brotherhood
They are drug dealers, rogues, thugs, slave traders and dirtbags. The scum of the civilization floating atop the barrel. Just kill them and move on. You can ransom your prisoners to members of their guild in the taverns, a very profitable way of making money.
Rogue Knights / Adventuring Companies
They are very powerful middle sized spawns lead by a few very powerful and excellently equipped Rogue Knights, followed by a Horde of Rogue Squires and Young Adventurers and a couple of basic troopers like Legionnaires, Huscarls, Singalian Horsemen or Armored Mercenary Crossbowmen. They are one of the best sources for top-notch armor and gear though they are pretty honorable and it may be a smart move to have them on your side.
They contain five unique spawns lead by
Oswald de Fleurs and his Adventuring Company. He fields Squires, Adventurers Rogue Knights and is a tough fight but very rewarding loot wise due all the knights assembled in his army.
Syla Uzas is Pendor’s and his gang of Renegade Empire Troops. He´s Pendors leading sociopath who kills for fun and enjoyment and nothing else. He fields top Empire troops, including Immortals and Shadow Legion Cavalry (Legionnaires mounted on Ironbred stallions). Due to the huge amount of top notch heavy Infantry this spawn can become very costly to fight against.
Boris the Raven and his company of Knights of the Raven Spear. This spawns is one of the toughtest around, mainly due to namegiving Knights of the Raven Spear. who get a Morningstar - which is the killing tool for the AI on horseback. Boris the Raven suffers from delusions of grandeur and fancies himself beeing the toughest knight in Pendor therefore he can´t wait to challenge the Player. Be careful. Great loot but much pain granted on this one.
Meregan Kierlic and the Gryphonsword Company. They are highly capitalistic. He pays his troops well and often, is very egalitarian and recruits women who finally become Heroine Adventurers in his warband. He is very violent and tough in fights but honorable unless he’s not paid by his employers.
Kodan Ironsword and the Ironsword Company. This filthy lot is known to raid for women. Even more astounding, they escort caravans and even lords wives for pay because Kodan honors his word to guard what he is paid to guard. He’s fond of the Fierdsvain and has a great many Vanskerry Raiders and battle hardened Fierdsvain troops in his company.
Drunkard Nation
The hero of any drunkard is Alaric of Brouhaha, the Rabble Lord, and his Glorious Army of Ale Drinkers. They are for comic relief as well as a Qualis gem after you beat him which is not very hard to do. He attempts to get the Player drunk before he battles him. His army composition is pretty weak, he´s among the easiest spawns around, if not the easiest. Beware of the pack of Young Adventurers employed by him - they can be quite a nuisance.
The Noldor
They will make you love them for their xp, troops and loot but hate for their toughness. You need to defeat both their warlords, Ithilrandir and Aeldarion and then get back on friendly terms with them to win the game. All the Noldor particularly dislike the Jatu and the Snake Cult and venture into Jatu territory and the Empire to pursuit them.
Warlord Aeldarian hates all mankind and has a huge army consisting of many Noldor troops you’ve never seen together before. He strongly dislikes humans.
Warlord Ithilrandir is the milder counterpart to Aeldarian though he hates Jatu more than filthy humans. He is rumored to have a sense of honor and won’t bother you if you release Noldor prisoners.
Unless you have very high-level skills and elite troops, it is unwise to engage the Noldor in the early part of the game - they will just kill you and have you rot in some hole fertilizing the trees above. They are well known for their ranged weapon skills and are the best archers all over Pendor and their ancient wisdom gives them great knowledge about the ways of nature and how to improve your gear by it. Their equipment is supreme to anything made by men so everything that will save your butt there is a signifcant advantage in numbers. However, once you´re strong enough to engage them the price is well worth it as they yield great loot.
Autocalcing Noldor battles may result in better loot and less casualities as if you fought the whole battle yourself.

"(You have a 10% chance that some, or all of the following will spawn.)" This 10%, to what does it refer actually? A 10% out of what? :)
